François Olivier
President and Chief Executive Officer
TC Transcontinental

François Olivier has been President and Chief Executive Officer of TC Transcontinental since 2008. In 1993, he joined the Corporation’s Printing Sector, at a time during which he rose through the ranks with vision, creating solid partnerships with key industry players.

A man of determination with undeniable leadership qualities, François Olivier places growth, performance, and innovation at the core of his guiding philosophy every day. Between 2008 and 2010, he invested $800 million to provide TC Transcontinental Printing with a state-of-the-art platform, then consolidated the Canadian market with strategic acquisitions such as Quad/Graphics Canada. In 2014, he launched the deployment of the business strategy aiming to transform the company by diversifying its assets into flexible packaging. From then on, he increased the number of acquisitions. In 2018, after seven successful acquisitions in this market, including the transformational transaction of Coveris Americas in May 2018, TC Transcontinental’s Packaging Sector now generates more than half of the Corporation’s consolidated revenues.

Today, under his leadership, TC Transcontinental is a leader in flexible packaging in North America and Canada’s largest printer. The Corporation is also a Canadian leader in its specialty media segments.

François Olivier also serves on the boards of directors of CAE, the Flexible Packaging Association and the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, in addition to actively supporting Portage. In this regard, in 2018, the non-profit organization paid tribute to him as a distinguished Québec business leader on the occasion of the Soirée des Grands Philanthropes.
