Founded over 52 years ago, the ALDO Group has become a household name in retail, both in Montreal and across the numerous countries it operates in. In his session, David Bensadoun, CEO of the ALDO Group and the fourth generation of his family to work in the shoe business, will share 10 key ideas. Offering insights and sparking reflection, these ideas aim to present a current portrait of the Montreal-based company. You’ll discover how, thanks to the many challenges it has faced over the years, the ALDO Group always managed to emerge better and stronger, and to never lose sight of its true purpose to be on a journey to create a world of love, confidence, and belonging.
David was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the ALDO Group in April 2017, more than two decades after first joining the company in 1996 and becoming the fourth generation of his family to work in the shoe business.
Leading up to his appointment as CEO, he worked in almost every corner of the business, from Operations to IT to Buying, and witnessed first-hand the transformation the company has undergone in the digital age. Pioneering new business models and championing corporate social responsibility, David has always been a positive agent of change within the ALDO Group.
A lover of geopolitics and a real history buff, David holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) with concentrations in Geography and History from Queen’s University and an MPhil in Land Economics from Cambridge University.
