President and Chief Executive Officer
Pomerleau
Philippe AdamPresident and Chief Executive Officer |
The coming years will bring on many challenges: energy transition, adaptation to climate change, and increased infrastructure needs in health, education, housing, and transportation. As construction projects ramp up, the demand for labour will also rise. The challenge in construction is of unbelievable proportions: we will need to carry out a multitude of essential projects while also addressing the need to attract new labour to the construction sector.
To this end, Philippe Adam, CEO of Pomerleau, will deliver a speech to provide a clear and unseen picture of the current situation, and explore potential solutions. He will then follow up with an interview with Audrey Murray, CEO of the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) at this key conference hosted by the Canadian Club of Montréal.
Philippe Adam is Pomerleau's President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He joined us in 2021 as our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as well as leading Pomerleau Capital, our investment arm in infrastructure and renewable energy.
In his previous role, he spearheaded two of the largest transactions in the company’s history, including the acquisition of Vancouver-based ITC Construction Group and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec’s $150-million investment in Pomerleau.
Philippe has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, strategy and operations. Over the span of his career, he has been involved in a variety of strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, and debt and equity financing. Prior to joining us, he served as CFO of Goodfood Market Corp. for three years and was Principal at Champlain Financial Corporation between 2013 and 2018. Philippe also held the positions of CFO at Garda Background Screening Solutions, Investment Banker with National Bank Financial, and Financial Advisor with Deloitte.
A graduate from the Bachelor of Commerce program at Laval University, Philippe subsequently earned a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from HEC Montréal. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA, CA) and holds the designation of Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), for which he was the Canadian gold medalist in 2009.
Philippe is active in several associations, including the Young Presidents' Organization, the Cercle des Présidents du Québec and the Business Council of Canada.
Philippe sits on the board of directors of the Douglas Foundation. He also sits on the board of two of Pomerleau’s subsidiaries: Borea Construction, a leader in the construction of renewable energy projects, and ITC Construction Group, a leader in residential high-rises.
