The pandemic has triggered significant shifts across all sectors of real estate. We now face unprecedented challenges, notably linked to the rise of remote work, which has implications for office spaces, corporate culture, and our overall environment. In the realm of retail, the resurgence of consumers in shopping centers brings forth new expectations, demanding a creative and innovative response. Concurrently, the housing shortage crisis, unprecedented in nature, necessitates the exploration of financial solutions and fresh perspectives for real estate stakeholders. Faced with this array of challenges, it becomes more critical than ever to demonstrate agility, flexibility, and responsiveness to adapt to the new market realities.
Vincent Chiara is the founding president of MACH. A lawyer by profession, he embarked on a real estate career after 14 years of legal practice, driven by a growing interest in the industry. In 2000, he founded Groupe MACH, and since then, he has dedicated himself exclusively to real estate development and management, with a strong emphasis on environmental and social considerations. His real estate projects have earned numerous awards in recognition of their sustainability and social impact.
In 2013, Vincent was named Lawyer of the Year by Le Monde Juridique, showcasing his outstanding legal achievements. He has also served as an Ambassador for the University of Sherbrooke and assumed the role of Honorary President of the CHU Foundation in Quebec in 2019. In his quest to diversify his ventures, Vincent established MACH Capital in the same year, overseeing various endeavors, including the La Cordée banner.
Vincent is deeply committed to the arts, culture, and various charitable causes, particularly those related to youth and healthcare. His active and significant involvement within the community led to his prestigious recognition in 2022 when he was awarded the Platinum Jubilee Medal of Queen Elizabeth II. He is a dedicated member of several boards of directors for public organizations and charitable entities, where he actively contributes his expertise.
In 2023, the Association of Italo-Canadian Lawyers of Quebec honored Vincent as the Lawyer of the Year, and he received the Entrepreneur of the Year award from EY.
